Home sales were solid in July matching last year’s sold properties for July with a zero gain or loss according to the Housing Trends by the Iowa Association of REALTORS® (IAR). New properties on the market were 9.4 percent higher than July of 2018.
4,356 homes sold in July matched July of last year. The median sales price of $175,000 climbed slightly higher. It was 2.3 percent higher than July 2018.
The number of days on the market rose only 3 days from 52 in July 2018 to 55 in July of 2019.
“July was a good month across the state for real estate activity. This was the most properties for sale in over two years. This bodes very well for home buyers across the state. With low interest rates and motivated sellers, this is a great time to buy a home! Contact a local Realtor for a market analysis of your community,” state IAR President John Goede.
The 15,379 properties on the market is the highest number in years.
