The Iowa Association of Realtors® congratulates Les Sulgrove, this year’s recipient of the OG Powell / Joan Ballantyne Distinguished Service Award. The OG Powell/ Joan Ballantyne Distinguished Service Award is meant to honor someone who has given long term and meritorious service to the real estate industry.
With over 40 years in the industry, Les has given countless hours of service and expertise to the association. His service includes local committees such as forms, finance, MLS, and legislative. Les was President of the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors® in 2010. His state service includes serving as an RVP, FPC, multiple committee chairs. He has shown the same dedication to the National level serving on impactful committees such as Risk Management, Data Strategies, and Research Committee.
This self-proclaimed Stat Guy is a trusted source of housing statistics at the local level and writes monthly articles for several publications and radio shows. He shares his insights with many industry partners and media outlets. This father of 3 and loving husband to his junior high sweetheart loves spending time with his 7 grandchildren. Outside of real estate, he serves his community with the Jaycees and shares his favorite recipes and adventures of his 2 best friends Zoey and Clyde on social media.
