Now Accepting Nominations: Gary & Judy Stevens Scholarship

Character, service, and influence are just a few of the qualities that Gary and Judy Stevens looked to foster among young Iowans. They are also the qualities sought by Gary and Judy Stevens Scholarship program.

Gary and Judy Stevens, of the Cedar Rapids area, created the scholarship program several years ago to find and assist graduating high school seniors who are involved in their community and were well-rounded young people.

While Gary and Judy passed away in the fall of 2020, they left behind a legacy of passion and giving in countless ways. Each year, the REALTOR® Foundation of Iowa seeks to carry out Gary and Judy's wishes by providing graduating high school seniors with the opportunity to receive a scholarship to further their education.

RFI will provide three scholarships for $1,000 each to deserving seniors who plan on furthering their education in any field including vocational/trade schools.

We are currently soliciting nominations from REALTOR® members who personally know the student (which may be REALTOR® family members) who are worthy of consideration for a scholarship. The REALTOR® Member should state, in their own words, why and what makes the candidate/nominee worthy of consideration.

Nominations are evaluated not solely upon academic or athletic abilities but upon a general sense of the student, including qualities such as good character, community service, volunteerism, work ethic, and more. In short, how they have made and will continue to make a positive influence on their community and those around them.

OPTIONAL information, such as a resume, letters of recommendation, published media, etc. are encouraged to be included. In past years, there are many students that apply and additional information will assist the selection committee in their final selections. Please attach a photo of the student, as it will be used by IAR/RFI in its online or printed articles.

Nominations must be received from active REALTOR® members by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 12. Recipients will be announced in mid-May. To submit a nomination, please use the electronic form by clicking the button below.
