David Gellerman, 2024 Quad City Area REALTORS® President

In January, David Gellerman stepped up as the 2024 Quad City Area REALTORS® President. His focus for his presidency is to continue the positive momentum his local board has experienced in the Quad Cities and navigate the challenges our industry is facing, while also focusing on improving the level of professionalism in our industry.

David has been actively involved in the real estate industry for 23 years and works at Hawkeye Commercial Real Estate. He decided to pursue a leadership role at his local board because of an interest in being part of the solution to making the industry stronger. With his years of experience, he brings a unique perspective and knowledge to help usher in a new era.

When asked about the role he plays in shaping the future of real estate in his community, David mentioned, “As our industry navigates the fallout from the lawsuit and the recent settlement, there will naturally be a lot of questions and some changes in how real estate is practiced. I have committed to digging in with our outstanding professional staff and volunteer leadership to ensure the future of our industry in the Quad Cities.”

When reflecting on the mentorship he’s experienced through his 23 years as a REALTOR®, there was one name that stood out: his father, who was a long-time commercial real estate investor.

For David, the true joy of being a REALTOR® is working with small businesses as they pursue their dreams. David works as a commercial REALTOR® in his area.

When asked about giving a piece of advice to a REALTOR® who is just starting out, David mentioned the importance of being involved at the local and state levels. He wished he would’ve gotten involved sooner.
