Home Sales and Median Sales Price Increase in November

Iowa homes sales and median sales price continue to increase over last year according to November Housing Trends by the Iowa Association of REALTORS. 

Median sales price of $158,000 was 2.9 percent higher comparing November of last year to November 2018.  Sold homes rose 2.5 percent from 3,214 in November 2017 to 3,294 in November 2018.  

Keeping with the trend for the faster sales, November was the 7th consecutive month with an average days on market of 60 days or less. Properties sold in 59 days on average In November. 

The inventory of homes in November rose 5.1 percent higher than November of last year. 14,134 homes were available for sale in November. 

“November was another solid month for Iowa residential real estate with increases in sales and median price. Homes continue to sell fairly quickly in most markets. We look forward to the year-end numbers that will come out in mid-January,” stated John Goede, IAR President.
