Summer Meetings 2019 Recap

Almost 100 Realtors from across Iowa attended the IAR Summer Meetings in Carroll.

The event kicked off with great networking at GRIT bar in Wiley. Catering from the locally famous Lidderdale Country Store was enjoyed by all.  Over the next two days , attendees enjoyed a variety of homemade treats during the bake sale offered by REALTOR® Foundation of Iowa (RFI). Over $700 dollars was raised by the bake sale! Thanks to all the purchased items and supported RFI.

Singing and dancing to the sounds of Pianopalooza was the highlight of the Fun Night at Barratta’s Steakhouse. Thanks to our dueling piano maestros Tony and Jerry for entertaining us!  View photos and videos here.  Special thanks to Lance Hanson for purchasing the Tommy Bahama Wooden Cooler auction item. The proceeds went to the REALTOR® Foundation of Iowa.

Some highlights from the committee and workgroups:

- The Communications Committee voted to use the statewide advertising budget for a campaign working off of NAR’s Public Awareness campaign, “That’s Who We R”. Details will be released in July.

- The Professional Standards Committee discussed the importance of NAR’s Commitment to Excellence Program.  C2Ex empowers REALTORS® to demonstrate their professionalism and commitment to conducting business at the highest standards Realtors and staff can take the self-assessment tool and will be taken through a free, customized program of 10 competency areas.  The committee is challenging all Realtors to take this program and will award $2,000 to the local board/association with the highest percentage of Realtors that receive the endorsement.
