Groundwater Hazard Statements

Saving money in real estate transactions is important to many people. Good news! Contrary to County Recorder plans to charge a fee beginning July 1st, the Legislature passed SF 638. It is expected to be signed by the Governor. This law contains a prohibition on counties/County Recorders for any charges or fees for the filing of a ground water hazard statement.  The status quo will remain for now - no charges are required for the filing on this document.

Thoughts and revisions to the whole purpose and actual use of the Ground Water Hazard Statement are continually being discussed.
