NAR continues to be a great resource for REALTORS continuing to conduct business during this unprecedented time. Information includes tips on keeping your clients and yourself safe, with specific recommendations for cleaning and advising clients during showings. In addition there are resources for property owners, open house guidelines and advice for brokers. Visit this new page nar.realtor/coronavirus for all these resources.

IAR has created a COVID-19 addendum/amendment to assist you in your real estate transactions. IAR Legal Counsel created this form after consulting with several different states and attorneys. This form is not mandated, but simply a great resource for you to use if you wish. As always, it is a good practice to consult with your own legal counsel and broker before incorporating the use of this form.  It can be found on Form Simplicity. Search Covid 19. Check out Gabe Walsh’s recent video discussing this form.

On Friday IAR and other industry partners have sent letters to the Governor's office in light of the recent limitations on local and state government services, we respectfully requested her consideration of some measures to ensure that all professions involved in real estate transactions continue to have the ability to process real estate transfers including but but not limited to; title searches, appraisals, permitting, inspections, construction, and especially the transfer and recordation of ownership.  Governor Reynolds sent out an official message encouraging all Auditors, Recorders and Treasurers to offer their full range of vital services to keep Iowa’s economy strong. This is an awesome example of our RPAC dollars hard at work. This demonstrates our important efforts in building and maintaining a strong relationship with our legislators and the governor.

Scott Wendl, 2020 IAR President
