IAR Welcomes New Director of Marketing and Communications

The Iowa Association of REALTORS is pleased to announce new Director of Marketing and Communications, Ashlee Kieler!

Ashlee joins IAR as the director of marketing and communications. She was formerly the communications specialist for the Iowa Attorney General’s office. With a variety of media and communications experiences as a writer, editor and marketing professional for news and non-profit organizations, Ashlee is excited to get to work on behalf of IAR!

She grew up in a (very) small town south of Des Moines and attended the University of Kansas where she double majored in journalism and communication studies. After graduation, she worked as a reporter for several local newspapers in the suburban Kansas City area before returning to Iowa, where worked as an editor for AOL’s Patch publications. Ashlee and her now-husband lived in the Washington D.C. area for several years where she worked for Consumer Reports’ online site Consumerist, creating in-depth reporting on consumer issues, including for-profit colleges, reverse mortgages and payday loans.

Ashlee eventually made the jump to marketing and communications as the media relations coordinator for EveryStep in Des Moines, where she promoted the non-profit’s many programs and services through her growing relationships with local media and thoughtful marketing approaches. She joined the Iowa Attorney General’s office where she used her communications and marketing experience to elevate the work done on behalf of Iowans.

In her free time, Ashlee enjoys all the surprises that come with having toddlers – daughters Gavi (4), Meeka (2) and Teagan (8 months) and pup Whiskey, keep her and husband, Grady, on their toes! Reading a good book, discovering new restaurants and learning about wine are just a few of Ashlee’s hobbies.

She looks forward to jumping into her new role, working with members and staff to meet the marketing and communication needs of IAR.
