2017 Land Trends and Values Survey

The fall report of the 2017 Land Trends and Values Survey shows an average increase of cropland values of 2.0 percent from March to September.

Iowa Home Sales Remained Steady, Lowest Days on Market in Two Years

The average days on market for last month came in at 66 days. That is the lowest since August of 2015. Home sales remain steady and were almost identical to sales from August 2016. Home prices continued the rising trend when compared to last year. Median sale price climbed 6.0 percent as compared to August of last year.

Home Sales Rise Over 5 Percent In June, Record Number Sold in 1 Month

Home sales rose 5.3 percent in June compared to June of 2016. The median price was 5.8 percent higher last month compared to June of last year. According to our data, this is a record number of sales sold in Iowa in one month.

The median sale price rose 5.4 percent in May when compared to May of 2016. $155,000 was the median price last month compared to $147,000 last year in May. The Housing Trends Report from the Iowa Association of REALTORS® (IAR) shows home sales were almost identical last month versus May of last year. 4,398 properties sold in May 2017 when compared to 4,403 properties last year in May.

The median sale price rose 4.8 percent in April when compared to April of 2016. $149,900 was the median price last month compared to $143,000. The Housing Trends Report from the Iowa Association of REALTORS® (IAR) show home sales dipped 3.5 percent last month versus April of last year. 3,481 properties sold in April 2017 when compared to 3,607 properties last year in April.
